Warsh Recitation of the Qur’an!
Here is an explanation of what Warsh is. Warsh is one of the recitations of the Quran.
The most common Quran recitation (qira’a) is known as Hafs.
All of the recitations mentioned below are valid and go back to the Prophet (Sallahu alaiyhi wa salam).
Here is a story that shows the validity of the differences:
Umar radhiallaahu anhu said: “I heard Hishaam ibn Hakeem reciting Soorat al-Furqaan in a manner different from that in which I used to recite it and the way in which the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) taught me to recite it. I was about to argue with him whilst he was praying, but I waited until he finished his prayer, and then I tied his garment around his neck and seized him by it and brought him to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah, I heard this man reciting Soorat-al-Furqaan in a way different to the way you taught it to me.’ The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to him, ‘Recite it,’ and he recited it as I had heard him recite it. The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, ‘It was revealed like this.’ Then he said to me, ‘Recite it,’ so I recited it and he said, ‘It was revealed like this.’ This Qur’aan has been revealed in seven different ways, so recite it in the way that is easiest for you.’”
(Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 2287; Muslim, 818)
Most likely when you open up your mushaf (Quran) you will be reading Hafs.
Here are the different recitations available. The wording is the same but the pronounciation is different.
Take a look at Surah Ma’un (107) warsh mushaf:

Keep in mind that most of the tashkeel (vowels, etc) were included later on in order to aid recitation, so what you are seeing above is a helpful manual that you can use if you are memorizing according to this qira’at.

Here is some more MP3 other warsh recitations Quran recitations (requires uTorrent or another torrent downloader software)
If you want to see the Warsh recitation of the Quran, load the link for QuranFlash.com and then go to “Book Type” and then select the last book.
In the end don’t worry too much about this topic, it’s very technical and it only applies to you if you are deep into memorizing quran.

Assalam ‘alaykum,
Be careful with your words brother. Warsh is just another recitation of the Qur`an that has been transmitted via mutawattir [mass transmited] narrations, just like Hafs and Qaloon and others. All ten are standard, one not being more dominant than the other. It is just that Hafs is the most widespread these days. So just to make sure you don’t accidentally say something wrong that could mislead, misguide or get you punished. Keep me in your du’aas sidi.
Wallahu subhanahu wa ta’ala a’lam

Thank you for your correction. Can you please post more details? According to what I read, “Uthman ordered Zayed Ibn Thabit, Abdullah Ibn Al Zubayr, Saeed Ibn Al-Aas, and Abdur-Rahman Ibn Harith Ibn Hisham to make perfect copies of the authenticated copy kept with Hafsa. This was due to the rapid expansion of the Islamic state and concern about differences in recitation.”

The first online casinos opened 10 years ago, and now there are hundreds that can be found online. Estimates vary as to the number of people who gamble online, but recent estimates suggest that a figure of around seven million worldwide would not be too far out. Taking that into account, and with a further estimate of more than $12 billion spent in online casinos alone (not including physical land-based casinos), offers of free casino chips may understandably be seen as something of a drop in the ocean.
Now with a low enough play though requirement and a casino game that’s not rigged more than the house advantage you may just make the play through requirement and keep the bonus that’s left over. One example is baccarat which has one of the best player advantages. Good luck on your online casino adventures!

Casino slots, blackjack, roulette, and other casino games are a relaxing way to unwind after a day of work. You may choose to open an account with a specific online casino operator. Some online gaming sites offer bonus dollars into your account upon sign-up. Many have 24/7 virtual support to help you understand their site and all it offers the player. Do you have a competitive streak? Do you want to match yourself up against other players? Many online casinos offer casino slots and table game tournaments. Enjoy the competition from your own home while in your pajamas. Try getting away with that in Vegas or Atlantic City, or anywhere else.
It is very important that the casino you choose to register for the offer at any of your favorite games, such as virtual table games, slots and rollers. The online casinos usually have a list of games they offer on their website to see the potential players. In case your favorite games are not listed, it is advisable to proceed to the next casino.
Many online casinos feature a low entry cost and attractive payouts because they want to convert the millions of online entertainment seekers into casino players. Sure enough, online casinos are places where some fantastic entertainment can be had at a very small price. Having said that, it is important for a player to select a casino only after running a thorough check on it because a casino has to be reliable and it must inspire trust in the player.

Jazaakumullahu Khairan for your input and the downloads. I pray Salatul-Jumu’ah in a West African masjid here in the Bronx and heard warsh for the first time. I grew up aware of the seven different recitations and even knew people that studied them when I was in Medina. But I never heard any of the other recitations or read their different texts until now.

Asalamu alaykum,
The information you posted is incorrect.
Here is a list of 7 different qira’at (keep in mind there are more):
1. Hafs from ‘Aasim
2. Warsh from Naafi’
3. ad-Dooree from Aboo ‘Aamir
4. as Soosee from Abu ‘Aamir
5. al-Bizzee from Ibn Katheer
6. Qaaloon from Naafi’
7. Shu’bah from ‘Aasim
None of these are qiraat. A qiraah is the recitation of one the ten imams whose recitations are mutaatirah (widespread) which are Nafi, Asim, ibn aamir, abu amr, al kisaaee, hamza, abu jafar, yaqub, khalaf, ibn kathir.
Under each are two rawi which are basically the two best students of each qari.
Warsh and Qalun were students of Nafi,
Shubah and Hafs from Aasim…
In short there are 20 riwayat and 10 qiraat that are mutawatirah and permissible to recite in prayer. None of these recitations contradict each other. A common misconception comes about when people think that memorizing the Quran according to one riwayah is only 1/20 of the Quran, in reality it is the entire Quran and is more than sufficient to know islam.
As for reciting in other recitations I would highly recommend not doing so unless you have mastered all the rules of the first recitation you learned from a mastered teacher (one with an ijazah for example). I have met many people who wanted to be “different” and attempted to recite in other recitations; this is something to be avoided and corrupts the sincerity of a person.
May Allah reward all of you.

Salaamun alaa mani ttaba’a lhudaa. I thanks you for ur effort and I pray to Allah to increase ur qiraat skills and other islamic knowledge but my view is no one is perfect except Allah and the Islamic knowledge is wide so that if any one wants to correct u should know where ur explanation about this qiraa is from and if may make comment should also mentioned where he or she quote his comment or correct than other because u should know that is better to break Alkaaba than the heart of mu’umin (because Alkaaba u can rebuild but the heart of mu’umin u can’t rebuild it) Wallaahu A’alam Wa Ahkam.
